When you are building your creative practice, the entire world is a buffet for your curiosity. The two of us dip in and out of all kinds of places, real and virtual, to expand our knowledge and our creativity toolkits. Two virtual places that serve up engaging, stimulating, surprising content on a regular basis are:
- Brain Pickings, a “human-powered discovery engine for interestingness, a subjective lens on what matters in the world and why, bringing you things you didn’t know you were interested in—until you are.”
- The Creativity Post, “a non-profit web platform committed to sharing the very best content on creativity, in all of its forms: from scientific discovery to philosophical debate, from entrepreneurial ventures to educational reform, from artistic expression to technological innovation.”
We are fortunate to have opportunities to travel for our work, and we’ve always got a list of museums we’d like to visit. At the moment, Rainey would like to check out STAM, the new city museum in Ghent, and Linda has Jane Addams-Hull House on her must-see list.
Both of us have found Twitter to be a great source for inspiration, ideas, and connections for our buffet. You can follow us on Twitter (@lindabnorris and @raineytisdale) for more on what we’re learning.
